Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha recently delivered a powerful message against terrorism during the Foundation Day celebrations of Uttar Pradesh in Jammu. Highlighting the government’s unwavering commitment to justice, Sinha emphasized that terrorists targeting innocent civilians would face swift and decisive action. He also issued a stern warning to those aiding or sheltering terrorists, stating unequivocally that their actions would not go unpunished.

LG Manoj Sinha’s Clear Warning

“No Innocents Will Be Harmed, But Culprits Will Not Be Spared” During his address, LG Sinha stressed his directive to security forces: protect the innocent while ensuring that those involved in terror activities face severe consequences.

“I have directed the forces not to harm any innocent, but the culprits will not be spared. If anyone provides shelter to terrorists, their house will be razed to the ground. There will be no compromise on this,” he declared. This firm stance reflects the administration’s resolve to dismantle the support network enabling terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. For the past four years, Sinha’s instructions to security forces have been clear. Those found harboring terrorists will face strict action, including the demolition of their property. However, he assured the public that innocent civilians would remain unharmed during these operations.

LG Sinha’s address also carried a message of unity. He urged citizens, security forces, and the administration to work together to eradicate terrorism. “We will not spare terrorists or those who aid them in targeting our people. We will bring them to justice. People must stand up against the perpetrators of terror. The security forces, administration, and citizens must work together to wipe out terrorism,” he stated.

Sinha also highlighted the devastating human cost of terrorism in the region, recounting the loss of 40,000 to 50,000 innocent lives and the displacement of countless families. Recalling specific incidents, he mentioned the killing of workers involved in critical infrastructure projects, such as the Z-Morh Tunnel, and questioned the morality of those committing such heinous acts.

“No Leniency for Terrorists or Their Supporters” The Lieutenant Governor reinforced his administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism and its enablers. “I have given clear directions to the security forces: innocents should not be harmed, and those indulging in terror activities should not be spared,” Sinha reiterated. Critics who have labeled the actions against those sheltering terrorists as excessive were met with a firm rebuttal. “Some people claim that atrocities are being committed on those who shelter terrorists. It is not an atrocity but a demand for justice, and this justice will continue,” he clarified.

Drug Issue in Jammu and Kashmir

In addition to combating terrorism, Sinha highlighted the government’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir. “A drug-free J&K is a step towards ensuring that our youth realize their true potential and shape their future with hard work,” he said. Youth empowerment remains a priority for the administration. Sinha assured young citizens that their aspirations and potential are central to the government’s policies.

“Our youth are fearless forces of creativity and positive change. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are being made to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added. He urged the younger generation to embrace teamwork and the ideals of the nation’s founding fathers to foster peace and progress in the region.

Sinha expressed concern over elements, both internal and external, attempting to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir. “Some people are still trying to disturb the peace here, and our neighbor is also involved in this. But we are not worried. However, it is not just the job of the police and security forces to stop this. People must come forward and help identify these elements,” he remarked.

Calling for a collective stand against terrorism, Sinha warned against complacency and urged the public to expose those threatening the region’s stability. “If we don’t take a stand, nothing will change. Those making empty statements are worse than those who commit the crimes,” he said.

A Tribute to Uttar Pradesh’s Cultural Heritage

During the event, LG Sinha extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh and paid homage to the state’s rich cultural and historical legacy. “Uttar Pradesh is a land of cultural heritage, patriotism, and innovation, guiding our society since time immemorial,” he said. He celebrated the contributions of great revolutionaries from the state, such as Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Mangal Pandey, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and Begum Hazrat Mahal, emphasizing their role in shaping the nation’s history.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s address underscored the administration’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism and promote justice in Jammu and Kashmir. His clear directives to security forces and his call for collective action reflect a comprehensive approach to tackling both internal and external threats. By focusing on youth empowerment, cultural heritage, and a drug-free society, Sinha envisions a peaceful and prosperous future for the region. As he emphasized, the responsibility to eradicate terrorism does not lie with the government alone but with every citizen committed to ensuring the safety and progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
