Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute in Madhya Pradesh’s Garha village. The initiative, launched at the invitation of Bageshwar Dham chief Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, aims to provide free medical treatment to cancer patients from underprivileged backgrounds.
State-of-the-Art Cancer Treatment Facility
The upcoming hospital will be equipped with advanced chemotherapy and cancer treatment facilities, ensuring that patients receive high-quality medical care. Specialist doctors will oversee treatment, and the institute is set to become a hub for cutting-edge cancer research and medical advancements.
The project is estimated to cost around ₹200 crore and is expected to be completed within two to three years. The first phase of the hospital will feature a 100-bed facility, covering a 10-acre plot, bringing much-needed healthcare services to the region.
PM Modi’s Address: Faith and Healthcare Converge
Addressing a massive gathering, PM Modi expressed gratitude for visiting Bundelkhand twice in a short period. “This time, I came at the invitation of Balaji. It is truly Hanuman Ji’s blessing that this centre of faith is now transforming into a centre of health as well,” he said.
The Prime Minister also took a strong stance against those he accused of mocking Hindu beliefs and seeking to divide society. “There have always been people who ridicule religion and work against our unity. Foreign elements have tried to weaken our culture for centuries,” Modi remarked.
He praised Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s efforts in promoting unity and commended his initiative to establish the cancer institute, saying, “Now, at Bageshwar Dham, devotees will not only receive the blessings of bhajan and prasad but also the gift of a healthy life.”
Social Welfare Initiatives at Bageshwar Dham
PM Modi also lauded the mass wedding ceremonies organized by Bageshwar Dham, particularly for economically weaker sections. “I have been informed that on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, a mass wedding for 251 daughters will be held here. I deeply appreciate this noble initiative and extend my heartfelt blessings to the newlywed couples,” he stated.
Maha Kumbh and Cultural Significance
Speaking on the ongoing Maha Kumbh, PM Modi highlighted its importance as a spiritual and cultural gathering. “The Maha Kumbh is now reaching its culmination. Millions have arrived, taken the sacred dip, and sought the blessings of saints. Witnessing this grand event, one is naturally awestruck—this is truly a Maha Kumbh of unity,” he noted.
He further emphasized its historical significance, stating, “Held once every 144 years, this Maha Kumbh will continue to inspire future generations as a symbol of national togetherness.”
