Jeet Adani’s Wedding to Be a Simple Affair, Says Gautam Adani

Date:

Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, has clarified that the wedding of his youngest son, Jeet Adani, will be a simple and traditional family affair. Addressing widespread speculations about a grand, celebrity-studded event, Adani reaffirmed his family’s values and approach to life, stating that the ceremony will reflect their grounded lifestyle.

The wedding, scheduled for February 7, will see Jeet Adani tying the knot with Diva Jaimin Shah, the daughter of Surat-based diamond merchant Jaimin Shah. Speaking after attending the Maha Kumbh festival in Prayagraj with his wife Priti Adani and elder son Karan Adani, Gautam Adani dismissed rumors about the wedding being a “Maha Kumbh of celebrities.” When asked whether global icons like Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Taylor Swift would attend the ceremony, Adani replied, “Bilkul nahi hoga” (No, it won’t be). Social media has been abuzz with claims that the wedding would feature extraordinary extravagance, including 1,000 supercars, hundreds of private jets, chefs from 58 countries, and a budget exceeding ₹10,000 crore.

Some reports even alleged that the India-England ODI match at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad was rescheduled to accommodate the festivities. However, Adani dismissed these claims, calling them baseless and far from the truth. “Our upbringing and way of life remain rooted in simplicity,” Gautam Adani said. “Jeet is here to seek Ma Ganga’s blessings, and his wedding will be a traditional family event. There’s no question of lavish displays or extravagant celebrations.”The clarification comes in the wake of comparisons to other high-profile weddings, particularly that of Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani, whose 2024 wedding to Radhika Merchant captured global attention.

The Ambani wedding included lavish pre-wedding celebrations in Gujarat, an Italian cruise party, and a star-studded Mumbai event spanning three days. While that wedding drew dignitaries, global tech leaders, and Bollywood stars, Gautam Adani emphasized that his family’s approach is different. “Every family has its way of celebrating milestones,” a family friend noted. “For the Adanis, simplicity and tradition remain central to their values. Jeet Adani, who has been increasingly taking on responsibilities in the Adani Group, is known for his reserved and humble demeanor. His bride-to-be, Diva Shah, comes from a family with a similarly grounded reputation, despite their wealth and influence in the diamond industry. The couple’s wedding is expected to reflect their shared values of simplicity and togetherness.

While the wedding may not feature international celebrities or grand spectacles, it is likely to draw close friends and family members from business and political circles. The emphasis, however, remains on the sanctity of the occasion rather than the scale of the event.
