Prime Minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon, will embark on an official visit to India from March 16-20, 2025, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed in an official statement. This marks Luxon’s first visit to India since assuming office and is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.

Diplomatic Engagements in New Delhi

During his visit, Luxon will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on March 17, 2025. The leaders are set to discuss key aspects of India-New Zealand relations, focusing on areas of trade, investment, education, defense cooperation, and geopolitical affairs.

“Prime Minister Rt Hon Luxon will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 17, 2025, covering various aspects of India-New Zealand relations. Prime Minister Modi will host a lunch in honor of the visiting dignitary. A call on President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled for the same day,” the MEA statement highlighted.

Chief Guest at Raisina Dialogue 2025

In a significant diplomatic move, Luxon will participate as the Chief Guest at the 10th Raisina Dialogue 2025 inaugural session on March 17 in New Delhi. He is scheduled to deliver the keynote address, reflecting on global security, economic partnerships, and Indo-Pacific cooperation.

Mumbai Visit: Strengthening Economic Ties

On March 19-20, 2025, the New Zealand Prime Minister will visit Mumbai, where he will interact with Indian business leaders and key industry representatives. His engagements in India’s financial capital will focus on enhancing trade and investment partnerships, exploring technology collaborations, and deepening economic relations between India and New Zealand.
